I am writing to tell you about a recent experience involving your  product. I have been wearing Danner boots for years now, both in the military  and in my job as a patrol police officer. I have 3 pairs of Danner boots - 1  pair of Desert Acadia boots that I wore to Operation Iraqi Freedom, 1 pair of  Acadia GTX boots that I wear as a police officer in summer months, and one  pair of Ft. Lewis Insulated GTX boots that I wear during winter months. I  have had exceptional comfort, grip, protection, and durability from these  boots and will buy many more pairs over the years. I’m currently looking at  the non-government models for a work boot for around the yard wear, etc. I  have worn boots by many of your competitors, such as Altama, Red Wing,  Belleville, Bates, Thorogood, and Vasque. I prefer Danner over all of them, in  durability, comfort, strength, and functionality.

My story is this: I was recently involved in a very bad motor vehicle  crash in my patrol car. I was entrapped in the car by my right leg, which was  broken in multiple places and pinned underneath the dashboard. I had a  compound fracture where the bones had protruded through the skin, creating an  open wound. It took the rescue squad over an hour to cut me out of my  car. I was medevac’d to a hospital, and I’m now recovering. I had asked  the rescue squad worker to not cut my boot off, if he could help it. He was  not able to get my boot off my leg without hurting me, and had to cut it off.  The squad personnel and the doctors all said that the boot helped me during  the crash by providing stability, and also possibly prevented further injury  by containing the broken bones, stabilizing my lower leg similar to how a  splint works, and by controlling bleeding. The squad personnel said that when  they took my boot off, my leg began to bleed badly. Clearly, the boot had  helped prevent a bad injury from being much worse.

I wanted to take this time to thank you for making such an incredible  product, and to let you know that I will continue to buy Danner boots  exclusively for my work. They are expensive, and it’s tough to shell out $200  as a street cop, but they’re worth it and I believe that your product  delivers. I appreciate your time and wanted to tell you how the boot helped and how I will continue to buy your product.
