A great tip on how to make this year's hunting season stress-free and successful.

T-Minus 2 Months (About)

Hunting season is just around the corner. Are you ready? Maybe your “lucky boots” are looking a little worn after last season and you’re thinking about sending them in to have the leather conditioned and the stitching repaired. Or is this the year for a total overhaul, complete with a new shank and outsole? The Danner Recrafting Department does everything from simple part replacements to major repairs on all Danner stitchdown boots.

The Early Bird Gets the Trophy Buck

We know that hunting season is the best time of the year for most of you Danner fans and we want you to be as prepared as possible. So we are going to let you in on a tip that will save you time and nervous anticipation as your big hunt draws near. Send your boots in early. We talked with Robbie Rushton, head of Recrafting about why it is so important to get them in early.

Robbie said that on average during the slow season, (anytime other than fall) they receive 75 to 100 pairs of boots per week. At that rate, the turnaround time for a pair of boots to be recrafted is about two weeks. By the end of August and into September the amount of boots received in a week doubles. During the busy season, the department receives about 35-40 pairs of boots per day. That’s over 200 pairs of boots per week! The team works as hard as possible to stick to the two week turnaround schedule, but inundated with double the work, things can get backed up as far as 5 weeks!

So if you can’t get this year’s trophy without your trusted Danner boots, visit the Recrafting section on our website and fill out the order form to send your boots in. You won’t lose any sleep knowing that your boots will be back in time for opening day.
